We’re not just developers. We’re a group of experienced educators and engineers who love to teach as much as we love to code. After years of mentoring students and writing curriculum, we know how to help students succeed.
CO-FOUNDER + LEAD INSTRUCTOR
Before founding Rithm school, I was a Lead Instructor at two other web development bootcamps. Over the course of the last 10 years, I’ve helped support hundreds of students through full-time immersive programs. I’m passionate about writing curriculum and teaching through examples to make complex concepts easily accessible.

LEAD INSTRUCTOR / SOFTWARE ENGINEER
I have worked in the postsecondary education space since 2010 and have been a member of Rithm School’s instruction team for the past several years. Over the course of my career, I have served as a subject matter expert for student aid programs, trained hundreds of colleagues, led software teams, taught and advised many students, and helped maintain an in-production education management software application. At Rithm, I get to combine my love for building web applications and solving problems with my passion for supporting and empowering curious learners. I currently work alongside our wonderful education team to keep our curriculum up to date as technologies continuously evolve and emerge, and I teach aspiring software engineers. My primary focus is teaching and delivering a high-quality educational experience to Rithm students working towards becoming exceptional web application developers.
GUEST LECTURER
I’m a web developer with a serious love for teaching. I’ve spent the last few years teaching hundreds of people to program at immersive bootcamp programs like General Assembly and Galvanize. Most recently I’ve moved my teaching online with the launch of The Web Developer Bootcamp, Udemy’s highest rated web development course.

TEACHING ASSISTANT / SOFTWARE ENGINEER
My love of teaching traces back to high school, when I worked as a piano and music theory teacher at a small music school in my hometown. About ten years ago, a dual interest in the artistic and practical possibilities of rapid prototyping technologies drew me into the makerspace movement, where I began teaching safety and operations courses on welding, CNC machining, laser cutting, 3D printing, and more. (Find me volunteering at a manufacturing education non-profit in San Francisco to this day!) I find incredible joy in helping a student realize their dreams through education, and on that front, I can’t imagine a better place to be than Rithm School.
My first professional forays into code sprang from my work in CNC machining. I’ve also worked on a variety of one-off projects over the years, such as building a responsive chatbot with JavaScript using Node.js. In early 2022, I took the plunge, applied to Rithm’s full-stack web development program, and haven’t looked back. My favorite aspect of software engineering is the limitless potential to collaborate and learn — current personal areas of focus and development are data structures & algorithms, security, and lower level languages.

STUDENT EXPERIENCE MANAGER
“I thought after reading so many glowing reviews that Rithm wouldn’t live up to the hype, but it really is as incredible as others say! I received an offer at my dream company, The New York Times, 3 weeks after graduating from Rithm, which I truly don’t think would have happened if I hadn’t attended Rithm School.”
Claire Casey, Software Engineer, Graduate Class of 2021
